Changes and Updates to Library Polices and Services
Using the Building
The library will be closely monitoring the number of people in the building at all times. Library users may have to wait to enter the building if we are near or at capacity. Users may also be asked to leave after a predetermined amount of time when the demand for library use is high. The library is not open to visitors. Anyone not currently a USciences student, staff, or faculty member may not use the library.
Users may not move seating in the library. Students are now asked to sit one to a table.
2nd floor study rooms and computer lab are closed to library users at this time.
Beginning August 31, we will be open 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday- Friday. Until further notice, the library will be closed on the weekend.
The first floor reference desk is no longer staffed but remains open virtually viaAsk a Librarian.
Users may submit questions or schedule a zoom appointment for any question they would have previously asked in person.
Ask a Librarianis now staffed over the weekend, and users can expect answers in 24 hours or less.
Users are permitted to browse library shelves, but all lending and borrowing will now be conducted through our Curbside pickup and drop off services. Please note: direct transfer of materials will not be allowed.
No lending of physical course reserve items at this time, but scanning services will be provided.
No lending of laptops at this time.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Electronic borrowing and lending of articles continues without disruption, users may experience slightly longer wait times,
Borrowing of physical items from other libraries is not currently available. Please use Ask a Librarian if you are in need of a book we do not own, we may be able to help.
